Hi, I’m Snarfy and I’m a Chicken-Wing-A-Holic. I’m only enabling myself because I bought an air fryer recently and that makes having super crispy chicken wings easier than it should be.
There’s a Vietnamese restaurant in my hometown that has curry chicken wings on their appetizer menu and I’ve never seen them anywhere else. They were my absolute favorite, but I can’t go there every time I want them. My wallet will hate me. While my homemade version isn’t quite a copycat recipe, they’re good and satisfy that craving when it comes up. Plus it helps to have them at home so I can stay a little more accountable in regards to what I eat them with. Lately, I’ve just been having them with steamed veggies, like broccoli.
Curried Air Fried Chicken Wings
8 Party Wings
1 Tbsp curry powder (adjust more or less as you see fit)
Garlic Powder, Salt, and Pepper to taste
1 Egg White
Cornstarch or Potato Starch
Put your chicken wings in a medium bowl. Season with curry powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a small bowl, lightly whisk egg white, and then add to the bowl with chicken wings. Toss to coat. Spread some starch on a plate to lightly coat wings before you add them to the hopper of your air fryer. If you hate dirtying extra dishes like me, you can get away with doing all this in one bowl if you dust and coat carefully.
If you need to pre-heat your air fryer, go ahead and get her going. The one that I have likes a 5 minute pre-heat, but my good friend doesn’t have to pre-heat hers, so make sure you know your appliances. Arrange your party wings in a single layer if possible and air fry at 375 deg F for 25 minutes. Pause your machine half way through and toss the wings to make sure everything’s coming along nicely. Once the 25 minutes are up, up the temperature to 400 deg F. Cook for an addition 5 minutes or until the wings are beautifully golden brown. These wings should be flavorful enough to where you don’t need a dipping sauce, but they definitely aren’t bad accompanied by some Thai Sweet Chili Sauce.
